ACLU campaign against web filters would make schools ‘porn-portals’: pro-family advocates

(LifeSiteNews) A prominent pro-family law firm is fighting back against a campaign by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to pressure public schools to disable web filters that block student access to sexually explicit homosexual websites.

“ACLU is pushing its radical sexual agenda for children by intimidating school districts with a long string of scare tactics disguised as a concern over censorship,” said David Cortman, Senior Counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF). “In truth, these school districts have no obligation to cave to the ACLU’s unwarranted demands. Our children come first.”

"I have no interest in parole and no plans to seek release," Berkowitz wrote FoxNews.com in an Aug. 6 letter. “If you could understand this, I am already a `free man.` I am not saying this jokingly. I really am. Jesus Christ has already forgiven and pardoned me, and I believe this."

Church replacing Israel?

(OneNewsNow)  Ever since the year 2000, Olivier Melnick of Chosen People Ministries says there has been a rebirth of global anti-Semitism as many people, including Christians, are falling prey to the idea that Israel is the problem in the Middle East and is treating Palestinians unjustly.

Melnick points out that a dangerous teaching in the Christian Church called replacement theology is also breeding anti-Semitism among Christians, as it essentially teaches that God is done with Israel and the Church has replaced the chosen nation.

‘Sex box’ for Swiss kindergarteners has genitalia toys: will teach sexuality is pleasurable

(LifeSiteNews)  Kindergarten children in Basel, Switzerland will be presented this year with fabric models of human genitalia in a “sex box” to teach them that “contacting body parts can be pleasurable.”

The kit for teachers to give sex-education lessons to primary school children uses models and recommends having children massage each other or to rub themselves with warm sand bags, accompanied by soft music, according to The Local, a Swiss newspaper in English.

“Children should be encouraged to develop and experience their sexuality in a pleasurable way,” Daniel Schneider, a deputy kindergarten rector for Basel who helped develop the sex ed curriculum along with experts, had said earlier this year.

The high cost of divorce

(Mercator) With cohabitation replacing marriage, divorce is receding as a cause of family breakdown, but it remains a serious problem. An article in the Washington Times cites US Census Bureau survey figures indicating that there were well over a million divorces in American in 2008 (1,087,920) giving a divorce rate of 8.2 per 1000 population.

The material cost is huge.

The average split costs a couple $2,500. A new single-parent family with children can cost the government $20,000 to $30,000 a year. That’s $33 billion to $112 billion a year total in divorce-related social-service subsidies and lost revenue.

Over 540,000 Sign Home Depot Boycott Over Gay Activism

(Christian Post)  More than 540,000 people have committed to a boycott of Home Depot over its support of homosexual activism, according to a spokesperson of the group organizing the boycott.

Randy Sharp, director of Special Projects at the American Family Association, said that more than half a million people have signed the Home Depot Boycott pledge since the signature campaign launched in July 2010. The AFA Special Projects director said the number of signers is normal for this length of time and type of campaign.

“A boycott is very simple. It is nothing more than saying to a company that you are using company profit to support something that I oppose. As a result, I will no longer shop at your store. I will shop at your competitors’ [store],” Sharp explained to The Christian Post.
